Eagles Up Recycled Rides US MARINE Sgt Brando Delflorentino & welcome home US ARMY Col. Bob Benjamin

Pics are from top to bottom, click on a pic for a larger pic, text for a pic is under the pic.

The longest mission title ever!  GBG  And it was a very good one, fun and got to see good folks having a great time.

Many folks teamed to help Sterling Auto Body prepare and give a car to a well deserved Vet!

We staged at our normal place in SJ by the airport to split into two groups.  One to ride with CJ from Sterling to the airport and Buzz took the rest to retrieve our hero for the cerceremony.  CJ led us on a scoot that Bob was going to ride to the auto shop, followed by his wife in a cage.   But back to the beginning at our staging....

I'm out of storage... plan B... sigh....

PGR - Salinas Veteran's Day Parade '12

Pics are from top to bottom, click on a pic to see it larger, text for a pic is under the pic.

A link to Cliff's facebook post, there is an advantage to 4 wheels!  GBG
Cliff's Pics

Salinas had it's 2cd annual Vet Day Parade and PGR was invited, and it was an honor to attend.  The parade was well attended by those that participated and the folks that lined the streets.  Great time had by all!

It was interesting that PGR had a spot, ALR Dist 28 also, and the Blue Knights were there too!  A whole lot of scoots!  The crowd did not seem to mind!

A portion of the large parking lot filled with entries.  PGR was on the left.  ALR Dist 28 was to the right.   Blue Knights were further down to the right.  We had a great staging spot and being in Group 3, we got to see a lot of the parade go past.

Looking down our line before Mark Z and the San Jose group showed up.  I really did not expect them as I didn't see time wise how they could make it, but they did with plenty of time!   My best guess would be 40 scoots and Cliff and Squeezer's flags.

IIRC, it was one of the Plymouth funny cars made a few years ago, looked real clean!

Dist 28 ALR to our right.

My sweet Ruby and Cliff/Squeezer's van.

Stolen shamelessly from Cliff!  I don't get on the other side of the camera often...

Another look at our line with sweet Ruby in front and this was before Mark Z arrived.

Took this for my son Mike who is in Afg right now,  God Bless 'um all!!!

More marching folks.

Our parade guy was trying his best to keep control but the size of the parade was intimidating.

And we're off!  Like I said, we had a vantage point!

American Legion

Gene B and Dist 28 down the sidewalk watching the parade.

Marine entry.

An unusual taxi!

Now here it gets interesting...  our RC was on the right, Boats.  I knew him a long time ago and he moved up to Or. for a job.  Well, when I saw that name, don't know any other Boats so had to go say Hi!   Nice flags in front and Mark Z on the left.

Notice front and Boats did not have helmets on?  Well.... SOMEONE, decided helmets would not be needed, and for many reasons... but....

Shortly after this a motorcycle cop was working down the line telling folks to put your helmets on!!!  The group in front started slapping their heads at us, and Boats gave the "helmets on yell!"  I had mine on, no big deal.  But the parade got all the motorcycles busted!  GBG  He coulda made his quota for the month!

Better pic of Mark Z and notice helmets ON!

It was a great parade, very well attended and a beautiful day!  Thanks to all that rode!!!   After the last pic, life got busy so no more.   Maybe Cliff got a few... stay tuned!

PGR- US ARMY / Air Force Reserves Donald Biondich

Pics are from top to bottom, click on a pic for a larger pic - then click again, text for a pic is under it...

Sorry for the lack of coverage, but I didn't do very well...

My good friend Roy C lost a good friend of his and PGR was asked to stand in honor and an honor it was.  We don't have many good friends, and loosing one really hurts.

It turns out  Don was quite a motorcycle rider and rode all over the world.  I'm in envy, as it sounds like he saw some gorgeous country.  When he got to a point a lot of us reach and decides to stop riding, he sold his very nice gold wing to a friend of Roy's and mine, Rich M and of course Rich loves it very much.  Ride on...

We lined the path into the church for arriving  guests.

We formed the flag line soon after I arrived and I forgot to get a pic of some of the scoots, there were 2 or 3 on the other side of Buzz's black car.  Roy C's was just to the right of the green one, with my sweet Ruby next.

After the flag line, a few of our riders had to leave and the rest waited for the service to end, and then form a flag line from the church into an adjacent bldg for a meal.

As is quite common we are asked to attend, but I personally feel this is private time for loved ones and ride on.

One last shot, Roy C on the right.  He'd just left the service and told us that all would be out soon.  I know it had to be a good service, I walked by and they were playing Willy Nelson, "On the Road Again",  I love that song!!!  My travel song and it plays in my mind.

Healing and Comforting Prayers for family and friends during this sad time of passing.  Please remember and celebrate the long and good life lived.  God Bless

PGR/WWR - USA  Spc. Steven Uhl

Only took 4 pics, what little text is under the pic, click on the pic for a larger pic.

WWR took on an Honor mission for one of our Veterans that passed while serving.   Thank you for doing this!  It was an honor to attend.  God Bless family and friends during this sad time of passing.

We met at our San Jose staging site and the escort team had already arrived....

My sweet Ruby in front....

Rest of the scoots, one 2 more arrived a bit later....

Rudy's truck across the street...

Arriving at the funeral home, parking and getting ready for the service.  Good showing, lots of flags and an honor to stand for family and friends.

PGR - USA SFC Alison Reynolds

PGR was asked to honor one of our fallen Vets and an honor it was.  Thanks to the family for asking us to attend.

Pics are from top to bottom, click on a pic for a larger pic, text for a pic is under the pic.

Our Ride Captain (RC) Rich Biddlecome lives in Hayward, where the service was, and stepped up to to the duties, and thank you very much!

The Honor Guards were practicing in the next lot.  It always amazes me, they are really good at what they do and practice all the time, maybe why....

I was a tad derelict on my picture taking on this mission, sorry!  We were lining up for end of service and flag line.  It turned out to be a bit longer than we thought so we later stood down.

More of the line, we had quite a showing!  Thanks to all rode!  You make a difference!

Last of the line.  Next to me was Chris Coleman, Area 6 VP and Chapt #48 President.  Thank you for what you do!

The flag bikes lined up for escort.  Chris and Rich were leading and my sweet Ruby in back, I've found I can follow much better than lead... sigh...

All missions are different, no exception.  Hearse parked in wrong spot, lines had to move, we got 'er done!  Great on Ya Rich!

PGR - KIA  PO 1 Sean Carson

One of our finest has passed and PGR was asked to ride in Honor, and an Honor it was.

Pics are from top to bottom, right mouse the pic, then click it again in a new tab/window to see full size, text for a pic is under the pic.

From the mission post:   The Patriot Guard Riders have been requested to stand a Flag Line as the family boards the USS Potomac to give final Honors to PO 1 Sean Carson. PO 1 Carson was KIA on the same Helo as Sgt Essex. Sean was an EOD Specialist assigned to a Seal Team in Afghanistan. The Flag Line will be on shore to greet Family Members as they board the Ship.

All attendees were given a Yellow Ribbon pin to wear, my pic is below.  Thank you!

When I arrived prior staging many scoots were already parked.  As I was coming in on Water street, it was clear that it was not meant for motor traffic, but a scoot can do anything......

Rest of the scoots there at this time, a few more arrived,  IIRC we had 39 attendees.

We have water, and a great day!

And a gorgeous ship!  We later learned we were all invited to ride with the group on the Potomac  out around the GG Bridge and I declined, been there many times decades ago.  Hope all had a great ride.

I did go on board and took a few pics...

The sign reads:  Welcome aboard Potomac   Tours Wed - Friday + Sunday   11 am - 3 pm    Tickets at Visitor Center - Water and Clay St

And here I go up the gang plank...  the ship had a lot of us already on board.

Galley...

Slick John wrestling with someone on the walkway.

Folks everywhere.

Dating the Potomac...

Almost went too far on the back deck....

So turned around, Rich B, our State and RC for the mission, red cap, talking to a rider.

Another shot of the eating area, bar on far left.

We have marine power!

And more on the other side!

Folks were having a good time on the ship.

About to get off and last shot.

Rich about to give us his "say once" about the mission.

Getting ready to line up for the Honor line.

One of the family, and I will not hazard a guess, gave all attendees a Yellow Ribbon pin, I put mine on immediately.  One of the riders asked Panak for a new rider Mission Accomplished pin, he didn't have one, I carry one extra on my vest for this reason, and gave him mine.  Thank you for riding!

This is where the pin came from, it is a .mil place and has a lot of stuff.  Thanks again!

It was an honor to be there, God Bless family and friends during this sad time of passing.  Please remember and celebrate the good life lived.
